Create your village with the Mia app
A step-by-step wizard for building and mobilizing community after child birth
Having a child without community is hard. Loneliness has become the norm. Even parents with community admit they feel isolated. What's more, every parent we've interviewed has said they have a hard time asking for help.
For friends and family, it's hard to know how to be truly helpful. We've all said "let me know how I can help" to a new parent, only to have it go nowhere.
Let's get serious about being there for each other, because it takes a village to raise a child.
How Mia Works
Making mobilizing a village easy.
The Mia App wizard helps moms create a postpartum plan and suggests ways their community can support them while ensuring the mom feels comfortable.
The community can then put helpful offers—like meals or babysitting—on a “shelf” for the mom to choose from whenever she needs, without feeling any pressure.
Research shows that this friendly, open way of offering support is the best for helping moms without adding extra stress.

What People Say
Jenn Conner, ATL
"If I could do anything differently, I wish I had more of a plan before the baby came. Who would do what and when, who I would go to for advice. Instead of piecing it together myself while sleep deprived."
Lisa Driver, MI
When people say "how can I help?" it actually has the opposite effect. I don't even know where to start.
